CONCEPT WORK
PRODUCT PLACEMENT AND DISPLAY EXPLORATION, ANCHORED AND DRIVEN BY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, SERVICE AND OUTFITTING
Accountable for concept design, strategy communication, planning, divisional partnership and collaboration + onsite VM execution
Project planning includes collaboration with merchandising through showroom product selection; visual merchandising through product placement and positioning and digital/signage teams through signage creation and QR code connection to REI.com landing pages.
This project launched in Fall 2021 during the New store opening of a neighborhood concept store location. VM presentations are executed through the visual merchandising team onsite.
Training documentation was also provided to support associates through sales, service and assumed customer interaction scenarios.
Ideation

Utilized grass-roots approach to localize in new stores, to lead initial walk through of potential priority positions for locally/regionally relevant product placement + display which led to work as a conduit between regional product insights, visual merchandising + store design.

Virtual VM Tool Kit

I created a digital kit of assets that allows me to teach and direct visual merchandising principles as if I were in the physical space.

This kit allows me to speak to each store's unique fixture package, assortment size and provide real time, achievable solutions and education
Future State

While this work and idea came to fruition following the 2020 lock down, it brings to light opportunity to increase accessibility and bandwidth for VM field teams
Ideation
Evolve the current state of the in-store presentation and customer experience of technical winter gloves
Research + Discovery: The most comprehensive shopping experience currently exists online, where gloves are shown in a 360 view adjacent to features and benefits that connect to varying price points.
Proposal: Leverage the buying experience found in digital, to expand the physical experience by displaying product selections that increase access and invite an early relationship within the physical environment

Translate the lounge experience found in New Stores, to create a price point [opt-in] buying + styling guide, all legacy stores can execute
